Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will continue to participate in ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan. This was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during negotiations with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit.

The head of state said: “One of the topics of our talks was the situation in Afghanistan. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will continue to participate in ensuring peace and stability in this country, creating conditions for economic and social recovery, and providing humanitarian assistance to the fraternal Afghan people”.

According to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan, supporting the efforts of Uzbekistan to create favorable international conditions for achieving these goals, highly appreciates the International Conference on Afghanistan held in July this year in Tashkent.”
