The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during his visit to Moscow, called for joining efforts in approving the principles of the UN Charter.

He stated this during negotiations with the speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

«Against the backdrop of the complication of the world situation, it is necessary to unite efforts in approving international law, the principles of the UN Charter in the fight against legal nihilism, the erosion of the functions and mandates of supporting international institutions», Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

According to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, «parliamentary diplomacy today is called upon to become an instrument of peace, cooperation and mutual understanding, this is seen as its main goal, meaning and purpose». The unconditional priority of joint work, Hero-Arkadag, outlined the promotion of strengthening internal political stability in Turkmenistan and Russia.

«It is necessary to put up firm legislative barriers to manifestations of extremism and radicalism, attempts to undermine and discredit state foundations, introduce false values and meanings into the public consciousness», said the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan.
