Unified and united in their aspirations, the Turkmen people, whose life in the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state is illuminated by the inspiration of creative creation, with a sense of immense pride celebrates today the International Day of Neutrality and the 27th anniversary of the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the historic Resolution on the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.
According to the established good tradition, the main festive events began with the ceremony of laying flowers at the capital’s Monument of Neutrality, which was attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The leadership and representatives of the Mejlis and the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh, deputy prime ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, ambassadors of Turkmenistan to foreign countries, heads of diplomatic missions and international structures accredited to our country, elders, representatives of public organizations, and the media gathered here.
The presidential car arrives at the festively decorated square in front of the Monument of Neutrality. Everyone warmly welcomes the head of Turkmenistan with great enthusiasm.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov walks along the carpet, where the valiant soldiers of the National Army – worthy successors of the glorious traditions of the courageous ancestors of the Turkmen people are lined up in the Guard of Honor.

27 years ago, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a historic Resolution that secured Turkmenistan’s unique international legal status of permanent neutrality. Our country was proclaimed the first neutral state in the modern history of the world, recognized by the Community of Nations. This event of great historical importance marked a new stage in the development of the modern Turkmen state.
As a result of the efforts of the Hero-Arkadag, in 2015 the United Nations General Assembly re-adopted a resolution on the status of permanent neutrality of the independent Turkmen state, which became another evidence of its international recognition as a peacemaking country, defending high ideals of goodness, humanism and creativity from the first days of independence.
It is known that on December 6 of this year, during the 45th plenary session of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolution “2023 – the International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace” initiated by Turkmenistan was unanimously adopted. This important document has become another vivid evidence of the universal recognition of the peaceful foreign policy pursued by our country and confirms the highly positive role of the policy of neutrality in addressing pressing issues on the global agenda.
At the end of the ceremony, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly said goodbye to its participants and left the place of the event.
