On New Year's Eve, the string orchestra conducted by Tahyr Atayev gave music lovers a meeting with New Year's musical hits from different years.

The prologue of the festive concert was a short interlude performed to the music of the Russian composer P. Tchaikovsky from the New Year's ballet «The Nutcracker».

To the beat of the magic sounds of the «Dance of the Dragee Fairy», a boy and a girl sneak onto the stage of the National Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly. Here, children are waiting for gifts that they eagerly unpack.

And, of course, according to the law of the genre, musical accessories become surprises. The conductor's baton is the main instrument of the orchestra manager and the guitar, as if hinting that the concert will not be entirely classical.

A wave of the hand and the musical celebration begins.

The festive hit parade was made up of songs from the repertoire of the Russian rock band «Mumiy Troll», the composition «Three White Horses» from the movie «The Magicians». As well as the original version of the touching song «A Blizzard Again» from the film «The Irony of Fate. Continuation», performed by soloist Selbi Annadurdyyeva with the guitar of Baky Amanmyradov.

On this magical New Year's Eve evening, vocalists Bogdan Smolin and Dovran Shammyyev soloed on stage. Bright colors were added to the orchestral sound by the bass guitar of Igor Shevtsov and the «golden» saxophone of Shirhan Batyrov, who performed the melody «All I Want for Christmas Is You».

One of the brightest numbers of the program was the hit of the 80s «Last Christmas». It is worth noting that this song by the British pop duo «Wham!» became the most streamed song in 2021. And 36 years after its creation, it again topped the British charts.

Christmas is the time to give gifts! So the joyful atmosphere of the concert was continued by the lottery «happy accident». So, some guests of the musical evening could also become happy owners of sweet surprises.
