By the request of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdiyeva received the copies of credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Austria to Turkmenistan Gerhard Sayller.
On behalf of the Turkmen Leader, the head of national Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on appointment as a head of diplomatic mission in our country and wished him successes in work for further improvement of traditional friendly relations and fruitful cooperation between our people.
The diplomat conveyed warm greetings of the leaders of Austrian Republic to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, having expressed large interest of his country in comprehensive intensification of interstate dialog with independent neutral Turkmenistan that confidently follows the way of progress.
During the meeting, new Ambassador of Austria was familiarized with key vectors of internal and foreign policy led by the Head of the State, which main priority is wide international cooperation for the sake of peace, security and universal prosperity. It is evidenced by important initiatives of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for establishment of transport and transit corridors and partnership in this strategic sphere.
During share of the opinions on prospects of the development of Turkmen – Austrian relations, the focus of both countries at activation of interstate cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within large international organizations and productive dialog established with the European Union, the partnership with which is priority direction of foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan, was mentioned.
In this regards, the side spoke for continuation of the practice of Turkmen – Austrian cultural events, which proved the efficiency and serving to enrichment of the cultures of two friendly peoples.
Opportunities of intensification of inter-Parliamentary relations in the light of reforms undertaken in law-making sphere became separate subject of the discussion.
