In the Epoch of the Revival of a new era of powerful state, under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, large-scale state and national programs are systematically and successfully implemented, aimed at ensuring the high dynamics of political, economic, social and cultural development of the Motherland, as well as improving the living standards of the people.

The state of affairs on the agricultural lands of the country was considered at a working meeting held by the head of state via the digital system on April 11.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the need for strict observance of the terms and norms of agricultural technology during seasonal agricultural work, in particular, cotton sowing, proper care of wheat, potatoes, onions and other crops.

Separate instructions related to control over the quality of construction of various facilities under the Program for the country's socio-economic development in 2022-2028 and the National Rural Program, which are scheduled to be commissioned this year.

The results of the work of the military and law enforcement agencies for three months of this year were summed up at a regular meeting of the State Security Council, which was held by the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov on April 13. The agenda also includes topical issues of ensuring security and tranquility in our independent state, strengthening the material and technical base of law enforcement agencies and further improving their activities.

During the meeting, the main areas of work for the near future were outlined, including conducting at the proper level the transfer to the reserve of military personnel on conscription and the next call of citizens for military service, preparing for military tactical exercises, mastering innovative technologies and improving the professional skills of mines of law enforcement agencies, the creation of decent conditions for the service and life of military personnel.

On April 14, at the Hezreti Omar mosque in the capital, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the day of commemoration of dear mother and grandmother - Ogulabat Berdimuhamedov gave sadaqa-agzachar.

Before the meal, the National Leader of the Turkmen people thanked for the numerous condolences in connection with the death of his dear mother, received from citizens, as well as from the leaders of foreign countries.

On the same day, in the mosques of the capital and velayats, sadaqa-agzachar was given, which became a tribute to the blessed memory and respect for the mother of Hero-Arkadag and grandmother of Arkadagly Serdar - Ogulabat-eje, and also tarava prayers were performed.

On April 15, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system, at which the results of the work of the sectors of the national economy for the first quarter of this year were summed up, and urgent tasks of the country's socio-economic development were considered.

As noted, according to macroeconomic indicators, for the three months of 2023, a steady rate of GDP growth remains in all sectors of the economy and regions.

In general, the volume of manufactured products increased by 6 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

The indicator of retail trade turnover in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year increased by 9.5 percent, and foreign trade turnover - by 8.4 percent.

As part of the implementation of the Program of the President of Turkmenistan on the socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028, out of 370 objects planned for construction and reconstruction, construction has been completed on 7, relevant work is underway on 105, and preparatory work has begun on the rest.

Compared to last year, the first quarter showed positive dynamics in the production of natural gas and oil, the production of electricity and many types of products.

Sustainable indicators are provided in the transport and communications sector, which is confirmed by the volume of freight and passenger traffic by all modes of transport. The volume of communication services increased by 11.8 percent.

In the agro-industrial complex, compared to the corresponding period of 2022, the production of vegetable products, berries, fruits, meat, and milk increased.

Positive indicators have been achieved in the non-state sector of the economy.

The revenue part of the main financial plan of the country as of April 1 of the current year was executed at the level of 115.5 percent, and the expenditure part - 97.1 percent.

The revenue part of the local budget for the period under review was executed at the level of 104.9 percent, and the expenditure part - 96.5 percent.

The volume of capital investments aimed at the development of the national economy at the expense of all sources of financing, in relation to GDP, amounted to 13.7 percent. The investment program for 2023 was executed at the level of 10.7 percent.

According to the results of the period under review, 44.8 percent of disbursed capital investments were directed to the construction of industrial complexes, and 55.2 percent - to the construction of social and cultural facilities.

As of April 1 this year, within the framework of the implementation of the National Rural Program, the construction of 53.8 kilometers of engineering networks and facilities, 126.1 thousand square meters of housing, 134.4 kilometers of communication systems has been completed. Currently, the construction of socio-cultural, industrial and infrastructural facilities continues.

At the meeting, President of Turkmenistan noted the importance of comprehensive measures to increase productivity and improve the operating capacity of fuel and energy enterprises. In accordance with the Investment Program for the current year, work should be carried out to implement the second stage of the development of the Galkynyş gas field, take practical steps to implement large investment projects, developing new oil and gas fields in the Caspian Sea and attracting foreign investment.

The Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations will have to take measures to ensure a stable supply of markets and retail outlets with consumer goods and food products. In addition, we will consistently increase the production of high-quality and sought-after textile products, introduce innovative technologies into the industry, improve the activities of the commodity exchange, taking into account international experience.

Health care institutions need to focus on the prevention of acute infectious and non-communicable, as well as seasonal diseases, provide specialized institutions and the population with sufficient volumes of medical devices and medicines through direct purchases from manufacturers.

Among the main tasks of the education sector were the formation of healthy lifestyle skills among young people and the improvement of their education, as well as the organization of proper summer recreation for students.

With the onset of the spring-summer season, the activities of cultural institutions should be stepped up, concerts and theatrical celebrations should be held regularly, and the number of performances for both adult spectators and children should be increased.

It is necessary to develop domestic and foreign tourism, to carry out appropriate activities to attract foreign tourists.

It is necessary to ensure the uninterrupted operation of enterprises in the construction and industrial complexes, the chemical industry, using production capacities to the maximum. Along with this, the importance of increasing the volume of electricity exports and creating science-based modern industries was emphasized.

Speaking about the long-term plans for future work in the transport industry, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to increase the volume of domestic, transit and international cargo transportation, to create new transport and transit corridors. At the same time, an instruction was given to prepare proposals for the implementation of projects in the country for the reconstruction of internal steel routes and the modernization of the material and technical base of the railway sector, the construction of an electrified railway network, taking into account the study of international experience.

Among the urgent tasks is to increase the capacity of the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant, if necessary, to involve specialized foreign specialists in this work.

The work of the agro-industrial complex was focused on providing the domestic market with potatoes and other vegetable products at affordable prices. Along with this, instructions were given to work to improve seed production and increase crop yields. Separate instructions related to the modernization of the water supply system, improvement of the reclamation state of lands, and the introduction of modern water-saving technologies.

Focusing on long-term plans, the head of Turkmenistan stressed that it is necessary to carry out effective work on the implementation of the Program for the socio-economic development of the country for 2022-2028, to properly prepare for the celebrations on the occasion of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, Independence Day, Day of Neutrality, Day of the City of Ashgabat and to other significant dates of the national calendar.

Among the urgent tasks, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov called the continuation of the policy of creating import-substituting industries and increasing the export of domestic products, as well as attracting investments and increasing the volume of foreign exchange earnings.

In addition, emphasis was placed on the need to keep the execution of the State budget under strict control. The head of Turkmenistan ordered to take measures for the development of the economy through diversification, as well as the growth of the share of the private sector and its active participation in the structure of the country's economy.

At the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree on the pardon of 463 citizens of the country on the occasion of the blessed Gadyr gijesi, as well as the Decree “On the production of rice in Turkmenistan in 2023”.

In addition, last week the head of state signed the Decree on holding the National holiday of the Turkmen people Oraza Bayramy on April 21, 2023 and the Decree on the appointment of the Hyakim of the Kyarizek etrap of the city of Arkadag.

Deep condolences to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in connection with the death of the grandmother of the head of state and Arkadag's mother, Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova, were expressed by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during telephone conversations on April 15.

Topical issues of further development of a constructive interstate dialogue were discussed by phone by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.

Prospects for the development of multidimensional bilateral cooperation became the main topic of discussion during a telephone conversation between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Other events of the week include the acceptance of credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Turkmenistan Michel Pietermans in the Mejlis. The diplomat got acquainted with the priorities of domestic and foreign policy of Turkmenistan, socio-economic programs implemented in the country and major international projects aimed at strengthening peace, stability and general well-being in every possible way.

In general, the events of the past week have become yet another evidence of

the success of the course consistently pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to achieve the strategic goals of state policy - further strengthening the economic power of the Motherland, improving the well-being of the people.
