The Creative Heritage of Magtymguly is the Treasure of World Culture

Today, the capital hosted the International Scientific Conference “The Era of Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State and Magtymguly Fraghi”.

The grand opening of the international forum was held in the conference hall of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly with the participation of the Chairman of the Mejlis, members of the Government, leaders and representatives of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, public organizations, some ministries and departments, academic institutions and universities, mass media, science and culture figures, and student youth.

Among the foreign guests are the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), scientists and specialists from a number of foreign countries.

It should be noted that TSU is the first of the universities of Turkmenistan, included in the International list of All University Info, which comprises higher education institutions in more than 180 countries of the world. All University Info refers to the QS World University Ranking and publishes information about the top universities in states with a quality education and the most popular among students.

The welcoming address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to its participants, read out at the opening ceremony of the international forum, expressed the conviction that the study of the literary heritage of the Turkmen poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fraghi, which is included in the golden treasury of world literature, will be of great importance in strengthening and expanding international cooperation.

The significance of the international scientific conference in the multilateral study of Magtymguly’s manuscript heritage was emphasized in the speeches of foreign delegates.

Thus, in the report of the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultan Raev, it was noted that during 30 years Turkmenistan has played a significant role in the development of cooperation between the Turkic peoples, supporting joint initiatives of artists and scientists of our states.

Then, the Director of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Tehran, Ms. Golda El-Khoury, delivered a welcoming speech via the digital system, who, expressing sincere gratitude to the head of the Turkmen state for the initiative to hold the current international conference, noted the high humanistic message of Magtymguly’s work, which permeated the entire life of the poet.

Also, the President of the Korea-Central Asia Friendship Association, Ms. Lee Ok Ryong, representatives of the scientific community from Algeria, Armenia (via digital system), India, Iran, Iraq and Turkey addressed the plenary session.

In her speech, the head of the Turkmen National Cultural Center in Tashkent, G.Avezdurdiyeva, noted that the collection of works by Magtymguly Fraghi, published in the Turkmen and Uzbek languages, was delivered to schools in Uzbekistan.

Professor of Pamukkale University Soner Saglam (Republic of Türkiye) noted that the book “Türkmeniň dana atasy Magtymguly hakynda rowaýatlar” translated by the scientific community of the Republic of Türkiye was published in Turkmen and Turkish.

Scientists and public figures noted that Magtymguly, being a personality of a planetary scale, today, as well as centuries ago, acts as a consolidating force that unites the peoples of the world with the spirit of high poetry, which contains a hymn to universal spiritual values. We were all united by Fraghi, the deep meaning and the unfading light of his subtle lyrical creations survived through centuries, the participants of the conference emphasized.

In his turn, Professor of the University of Baghdad, owner of the Magtymguly Fragi medal Ibrahim Mustafa Hamad highlighted that the collection of poems by Magtymguly Fraghi was translated into Arabic.

At the end of the plenary session, the work was carried out in five sections of the scientific conference. So, at the International University for the Humanities and Development, a meeting was held on the topic “Fraghi and Arkadag – the Lights of the Soul”, at TSU named after Magtymguly – a meeting of scientists within the section “Magtymguly and his Epoch”. At the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the work continued on the topic “Magtymguly and the Literature of the East”, at the Turkmen State Institute of Culture – “The World of Magtymguly’s Poetry”, and at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country a sectional meeting was held on the topic “Humanism in the Works of Magtymguly”.

The speakers emphasized the greatness of the genius of Magtymguly Fraghi, who embodied the centuries-old wisdom of the Turkmen people, the beauty of his poetic language, who preached values close to every inhabitant of the planet with his work.

The guests expressed their gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who successfully continues the initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, thanks to which the legacy of the Turkmen poet is increasingly popularized in the world.

At the final session, the results of the International Scientific Conference “The Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State and Magtymguly Fraghi" were summed up. According to the unanimous opinion of attendees, this forum has made a significant contribution to the deepening of international scientific and cultural contacts.

At the end of the conference, its participants adopted an Appeal to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in which they expressed deep gratitude for the high level of organization of the forum, which promoted a wide exchange of experience and the identification of promising areas for further cooperation.

The foreign guests were greatly impressed by the cultural program, which included excursions to Arkadag city, the Nisa State Historical and Cultural Reserve and the capital’s museums, etc.

Cooperation and mutual enrichment have always been and remain signs of development, movement towards more advanced forms of artistic knowledge and reflection of reality. And today Magtymguly’s work, which has absorbed color, enchanting aroma, marvelous music and subtle wisdom of the poetry of the East, continues to illuminate the development of national literatures, spiritual cultures of the peoples of the region and the world.
