The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted the first game of the qualifying round of the third season of the intellectual competition “Young Messengers of the World”, conducted by the university and the School of Young Diplomats in its composition among high school students of the country’s schools.

Eight players competed in the opening competition of the season – pupils of 10 and 11 grades from schools of Ashgabat, as well as Akhal, Mary and Balkan velayats.

Participants of the first game of the competition, the content of which traditionally covers various historical periods of the formation and development of the national school of diplomacy, were offered the topic “Dovletmammet Azadi and International Relations in Central Asia in his Epoch.”

According to tradition, the game took place in a large Turkmen yurt, installed specifically for the competition in one of the educational buildings of the university. Here, on the main playing field, it was important for the participants to be able to express themselves, give comprehensive answers to questions on the topic of the competition, demonstrate their knowledge and preparation, which was assessed with the utmost rigor and fairness by a competent jury.

Following the results of the first game, Guljemal Orazova, an 11th grade pupil of the secondary school # 108 in Ashgabat, and Jeyhun Hojageldyev, a 10th grade pupil of the capital’s specialized comprehensive boarding school named after S. Turkmenbashi, were declared winners.

The young intellectual winners and all participants of the game were awarded certificates of honor and letters of gratitude from the project organizers, as well as memorable gifts from the event’s sponsors.

The jury team consisted of a researcher at the Makhtumkuli Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, candidate of historical sciences Rahmanberdi Godarov, senior teachers of the IIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country – Begench Karaev, candidate of philosophical sciences and Baba Saryev, candidate of philological sciences.

The competition was sponsored by the AST Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Makhtumkuli, the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Makhtumkuli, the National Archery Federation of Turkmenistan, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, Abadan haly JSC, Aýdyň gijeler ES, Muhammet Balkan ES, Ýedi Dogan IE, Düwmejik IE.

The filming and recording of the game was carried out by the Miras TV channel of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography together with the training studio of the IIR Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country. The competition will be broadcast to Turkmen television viewers in the coming days.

Let us remind that a grandiose project for pupils of 9, 10 and 11 grades of schools of Turkmenistan is being carried out for the third consecutive academic year. It is aimed at career guidance for schoolchildren, identifying the most capable and talented participants who have extensive knowledge and qualities necessary to build a successful diplomatic career in the future.

It should be noted that last September, a test was held for those wishing to take part in the next season of the project, as a result of which 64 schoolchildren were selected from more than 600 candidates. Thus, eight participating teams were formed for eight games in the qualifying round of the competition.

According to the rules, the top two players from each of the eight teams (16 students) will take part in the two semi-final games of the season. Their winners will be eight schoolchildren who will receive a ticket to the finals of the intellectual competition. Based on its results, prize places will be distributed among the participants.

In commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the greatest poet and philosopher of the East, Makhtumkuli Fraghi, the third season of the project for the Academic Year 2023-2024 will be held under the slogan “The Teachings of the Great Makhtumkuli Fraghi – the National Torch of Universal Human Values.”

Accordingly, the content of all games of the competition will also include questions dedicated to the life and literary heritage of the brilliant creator and compiled on the basis of his works, as well as books and films telling about the poet.
