UNDP organized a series of trainings to provide specialized courses for civil servants of Turkmenistan on gender mainstreaming.

The pilot course was developed and conducted within the framework of the three-year project “Supporting the Implementation of the National Action Plan of Turkmenistan in human rights for 2021-2025”, fulfilled by UNDP jointly with the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan.

UNDP international expert on gender equality Biljana Maletin developed and conducted specialized courses for government officials on gender mainstreaming. Their participants gained knowledge about such key issues of the gender agenda as gender analysis, gender equality, gender data for Turkmenistan, gender stereotypes and national legislation in gender equality.

With the participation of members of the working group on the development and implementation of a human rights training course, a number of issues related to the project of a special course “Gender Mainstreaming” for civil servants of Turkmenistan were discussed. Based on the results of the training, participants provided comments and recommendations on the course draft.
