The International Exhibition of Food, Packaging and Agricultural Products "Agro-Pack Turkmenistan - 2023", held for the first time in Ashgabat, gathered leading domestic and foreign manufacturers at the venue of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The products of the ostrich farm "DüýeGuş" aroused considerable interest among the guests and participants of the exhibition.

Located in Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal velayat, the farm specializes in hatching eggs and the breeding of young ostriches, for which the farm houses breeding birds, as well as ostriches raised for meat.

The first hundred African ostriches were imported to the farm from Turkey. Currently, the number of these birds has significantly grown, enabling producers to increase the volume of their products.

Today, the farm conducts online sales of dietary ostrich meat, minced meat and sausage products. Ostrich meat is sold as whole carcasses (cut and uncut) and as separate parts: large slices used for roast, slices cut across the fibers for steaks and more.

In addition, among the products manufactured is ostrich fat, which is used in cooking as a healthy alternative to butter.

Not only tasty, but also healthy ostrich meat is rich in protein with its low calorie content, contains B vitamins and such essential minerals for the human body as potassium, calcium, zinc, selenium, copper, etc.

According to the producers, with proper care, one ostrich can provide 35-45 kilograms of meat and approximately one square meter of ostrich leather. Establishing the production of ostrich leather is one of the farm's current objectives. Soft and elastic ostrich leather has high strength and is waterproof compared to crocodile leather.

In the future, Turkmen entrepreneurs intend to export products from the ostrich farm.
