On January 15, 2024, in the building of the Administration of the Governor of Istanbul, a meeting was held between the Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye Muhammetnur Ovezov and the Governor of Istanbul Davud Gul. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan. 

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues of interregional cooperation in trade, economic, educational, cultural and humanitarian areas.

Particular attention was paid to the establishment of twinning relations between the municipalities of the two countries, including the prospects for bilateral cooperation between the cities of Arkadag and Istanbul. The interlocutors also discussed cultural events to support the Turkmen diaspora in Istanbul.

The Consul noted that Turkmenistan pays special attention to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two fraternal peoples, and M. Ovezov also focused on the book of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Youth is the support of the Motherland.”

The interlocutors also discussed the action plan for 2024, declared in Turkmenistan the Year of “Fount of wisdom Magtymguly Fragi.”
