On January 24, 2024, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia M.Mashalov met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia Tan Sri Dato' Johari Abdul.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the creation of a parliamentary friendship group established between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Parliament of Malaysia is one of the important tools for strengthening the positions of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament expressed his readiness to visit Turkmenistan this year. In this context, the parties were unanimous in the opinion that the upcoming mutual visits will contribute to the expansion of inter-parliamentary dialogue between the two countries.
