A solemn event was held at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University on the occasion of the first anniversary of the creation of the UNESCO chair «Cultural Heritage: from the past to the Future».
At the same time, the capital's university celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which was held at the university under the title «The importance of scientific activity of women scientists in the study of the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people» The annual holiday was established by the UN General Assembly in order to promote full and equal access and participation of women and girls in science.
Thus, the event was attended by female teachers of the country's universities, women scientists of research institutions, as well as representatives of the UNESCO University Department «Cultural Heritage: from the past to the Future» and students.
The speeches emphasized that our country has created all the necessary conditions and provided ample opportunities for women to take an active and full-fledged part in science, contribute to the large-scale reforms being carried out in the country, and promote gender equality.
During the meeting, the results of the activities of the UNESCO Chair of TSU were highlighted Magtymguly over the past year, her fruitful cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The participants noted the special importance of science and education as one of the leading areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, which is successfully developing and increasing every year. In this regard, it was emphasized that UNESCO chairs operate in 2 higher educational institutions of the country, UNESCO clubs operate in 5 more, and 6 secondary schools of Turkmenistan are included in the network of associated schools of this organization.
At the UNESCO Chair of TSU various events are held in Magtymguly in order to study on a scientific basis and popularize among young people the material and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people, created over thousands of years and preserved to the present day. Thus, during the organization of the department, a scientific and practical conference «Cultural heritage - a source of education of youth in the spirit of patriotism» was successfully held with the participation of professors, teachers, students of universities of the country, employees of research institutes. Following the results of the conference, a collection of abstracts was published.
Thematic trainings, seminars, and training sessions are regularly held for members of the department under the guidance of the Secretariat of the National Commission Turkmenistan for UNESCO Affairs.
An exhibition was held for the participants of the festive meeting in the foyer of the university, which presented books by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, poetry collections of Magtymguly Fragi, published in Turkmen and foreign languages, as well as scientific works, monographs, collections of articles devoted to the work of the greatest poet.
In addition, the exhibition introduced the guests to various projects prepared by students, young scientists, and members of the UNESCO University Department.
The performances of the creative team of the cultural center «Bagtyýarlyk owazlary» TSU named after Magtymguly added bright colors to the solemn atmosphere of the event.
