Today, February 29, 2024, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Irfan Ahmed, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan. At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Minister thanked the Ambassador, for his contribution to strengthening Turkmen-Pakistan relations and noted that during his residency, it was capable to develop and achieve accomplishments regarding to bilateral political and economic cooperation.
The parties emphasized that the strategic base of trade and economic cooperation is the partnership in the energy sector, in particular on the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project, power transmission lines and fiber-optic communications, alongside with the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) route.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of Pakistan expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for his comprehensive assistance and support during his diplomatic accomplishments in Turkmenistan.
