The Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages is conducting the recruitment of participants for the 3rd International Internet Olympiad in English (IIOE - 2024), organized by the university with the support of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
Students from all courses of language and non-language majors of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad are invited to participate in the Olympiad. The number of participants is not limited.
The Olympiad will take place from April 10 to 11 and will be conducted through the university's digital educational portal in the form of testing. It includes 10 tasks related to reading, listening and grammar of the English language. Participants will have 90 minutes to complete the testing tasks.
Those who wish to participate in the Olympiad should register by March 31 by filling out the form on the website TNIWL named after D. Azadi in the Internet Olympiad section. The results of the Olympiad will be announced on the institute's website on April 18. The winners of the Olympiad will be awarded diplomas of the corresponding degrees by the organizing university.
It is worth noting that last year the Olympiad attracted over 1,500 participants from 180 universities in 36 countries around the world. More than 200 students were awarded prizes, 156 of whom were students of Turkmenistan.
Among the main objectives of the Olympiad are the assessment of the general level of English language proficiency, consolidation of theoretical and practical knowledge of students, development and improvement of communication, writing, spoken language, listening and reading skills, as well as increasing students' interest in learning English and expanding the sphere of international cooperation in promoting foreign languages among universities through digital technologies.
The Olympiad is held as part of the plan of activities for the implementation of the Concept for Improving the Teaching of Foreign Languages and the Concept for the Development of the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan.
