May is a month of reporting concerts in children art schools, seven of which are located in the Turkmen capital. Traditionally, performances of young musicians are held on large stages. By this, the kids learn to communicate with spectators, to which their art is turned to.
This year, the concert of young musicians of Children art school no. 1 was held in the hall of Turkmen National Conservatory and was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the school. Representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, city administration and public organizations were the guests of the event. Teachers and their students, parents of young talents as well as former graduates, for which music became the profession, were on the concert as well.
The anniversary programme included the performances of chorus under Areva Grigoryan and orchestra conducted by Agadurdy Odyayev as well as young instrument players and soloists. Emirhkhan Shihiyev brightly performed piano piece “The Song of Dovran” by Chary Nurymov. “The Sounds of Dutar” by Nury Halmamedov sounded heartfelt in performance of young pianist Erjel YAgshimuradov (both are the students of Larisa Orazmamedova).
The students of violin class also demonstrated bright play. The winner of State contest dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the independence Zaur-Abbas Asadudullayev performed “Infinite Move” by O. Novachek and twice prize-winner of Altyn Asyr contest, school violin ensemble Altyn Serpay conducted by Anjela Yalkapova played “Ashgabat” by Nury Halmamedov. The spectators were admired by the performance of dutar ensemble “Paytagt”, accordion ensemble “Bagtyar Nesil” and drum players band “Shovhun” as well as by the students of brass classes. Joint performance of P. Chaykovsky “Flower Waltz” by the teachers and students of piano department was the final number of the concert.
The history of the school is inseparable from the milestones of the history of the country. In 1937, the graduates of Turkmen State College as well as teachers of Moscow and Leningrad Conservatories were the first tutors of the school. During the war, the teachers, who left to the front, were replaced by the musicians of Odessa Conservatory that was evacuated to Ashgabat. Devastating earthquake of 1948 destroyed the school but the teaching of the kids never stopped.
The current generation of teachers continue tradition of care of national and world musical heritage. Today, there are more than 330 talented children studying ten specialties like piano, national musical instruments, brass, drum, violin and chorus departments and other. The fosters of the art school conduct concerts in kindergartens and schools popularizing classical musical culture.
