On April 23, 2024, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Washington organized a chess tournament, which became a platform for celebrating the life and legacy of the great Turkmen poet and thinker. Diplomats from Central Asian countries, Türkiye, the Russian Federation, Georgia and Belarus took part in the tournament. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

At the beginning of the event, Ambassador Meret Orazov spoke about the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi, emphasizing the deep significance of the literary heritage of the classical poet of the Turkmen people.

As part of the meeting, an exhibition was organized at which the literary works of Magtymguly Fragi were presented along with Turkmen literature and cultural heritage.

At the end, the winners of the tournament were presented with books by Magtymguly Fragi and memorable gifts.
