The past week was marked with wide celebration of Day of Constitution and National Flag of Turkmenistan in our country. It is deeply symbolical that this big holiday has become an embodiment of realization of dream of Turkmen people of an independent, sovereign state, unity and coherence of the nation, revival of its high spirit, for which great classic of Turkmen literature and well-recognised singer of the national soul Magtymguly called in his poems three centuries ago.
On May 18, a flower laying ceremony at the Monument to the Constitution and Main Flag of the country took place in Ashgabat with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
That day solemn events and festive concerts of workers of art and culture, in which the songs glorifying our independent land, unity and coherence of people, beauty of our native land and creative energy of the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State sounded, were held all over the country.
In early past week - on May 13, - President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an online working meeting, in which he considered the course of seasonal agricultural work in the country.
The main attention was given to issues of observance of agro-technical standards of care of cotton and wheat, preparation for grain harvest and well-organised conduction of cocoons production season.
On May 14, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Interparliamentary friendship group Toshiaki Endo.
During the meeting exchange of opinions on priority aspects of Turkmen-Japanese partnership, including in the area of parliaments, within the framework of international structures, in the field of trade and economic relations and humanitarian sphere took place.
The Chairman of Japanese-Turkmen inter-parliamentary group of friendship noted that he would be glad to see President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the Summit of heads of the states-participants of “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue and also invited the head of the state to visit the World Exhibition EXPO-2025 in Japan.
Prospects of bilateral cooperation, in particular, inter-parliamentary cooperation, have become one of the main topics of the meeting, which took place that very day between National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of Japanese-Turkmen inter-parliamentary group of friendship Toshiaki Endo. Ayano Sato, member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament also took part in the meeting.
At the meeting in the Mejlis with head of group of Japanese-Turkmen inter-parliamentary friendship and member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan Toshiaki Endo, the attention was paid to expansion of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. As was marked, the events held on the margins of the 300th birthday anniversary of the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi, promote the strengthening of cultural, friendly and brotherly relations between peoples.
On the sidelines of the visit of the delegation of the friendly country to the Mejlis, the regular meeting of the Inter-parliamentary group of friendship, which unites representatives of legislative bodies of Turkmenistan and Japan, also took place.
On May 14, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society Neda Berger, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in cultural events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker, the internationally recognized classic of Eastern literature Magtymguly Fragi as well as to hold a number of meetings with a view of discussion of prospects of further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of culture.
During the meeting, cultural-humanitarian relations, in particular, conduction of the sixth Vienna Ball and creation of the Houses of Austria in Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, were discussed.
Taking an opportunity, the guest thanked for really invaluable gift on the occasion of the recent anniversary - the book of her verses in four languages (Russian, Turkmen, German and English) with an opening address of Hero-Arkadag.
At the meeting, which took place that very day between National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Mrs. Neda Berger, Hero-Arkadag congratulated the guest on her recent birthday and expressed her huge gratitude for efforts in rapprochement of our countries, adjustment of bridges of friendship and cooperation.
On May 17, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the next online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, in which topical issues of social and economic development of the country were considered.
In particular, the issues, concerning further modernisation of national legal basis and perfection of system of protection of intellectual property rights were discussed.
Drilling activities carried out at platforms of Lebap and Mary velayats with a view of discovery of new gas bearing layers, the course of seasonal agricultural campaigns, development of special software for conducting database of the State land cadastre, work on development of digital economy, introduction of system of electronic government as well as preparation of experts in this sphere were also informed.
The information on the events planned to hold on the occasion of Ashgabat City Day, Holiday of Turkmen carpet, International Day of Protection of Children, preparation for the solemn opening of new buildings and objects and organisation of summer holiday for children and teenagers sounded.
A number of proposals on development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) were sounded.
At the meeting, the head of the state pointed out that on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of the great son of Turkmen people Magtymguly Fragi, the book «Magtymguly» which contains verses of the poet-thinker that have become universal value, was released out of print. The collection of poems, the first copy of which was decided to be send to Hero-Arkadag, will become a worthy gift to our people in the year «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi».
A solemn opening of the monument to Magtymguly Fragi and a new cultural-park complex «Magtymguly Fragi», which took place in the evening on May 17 in the southern part of the Turkmen capital with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, became one of the central events of the large-scale events devoted to the birthday anniversary of the master of poetry.
The head of the state and numerous visitors laid flowers at the foot of the monument to the great son of Turkmen people Magtymguly Fragi.
The height of the monument established on a natural hill, makes up 60 metres and a pedestal - 25 metres on which lines from the poem of the great humanist and the thinker of the East «Future of Turkmenia» and from the poem by Hero-Arkadag «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi» are engraved.
The alley of famous poets-classics and world-renowned thinkers, representing different countries and continents, became a unique component of architecture of the complex. The monuments established in their honour, personify friendship, brotherhood and good neighbourhood of people for which Magtymguly Fragi called in his immortal works.
The celebration was over with an impressing show of drones, accompanied by music, light and visual effects. The grandiose fireworks, which lighted the sky with bright flashes of fantastic constellations, also became a breath-taking sight.
On May 17, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Igor Bukato, head of the Group of Project and Construction Companies "Vozrozhdenie".
Exchange of opinions on the current state of cooperation and topical areas of its further development proceeding from available versatile potential and large-scale town-planning program developed in our country took place.
The head of the state marked that Turkmenistan, putting into practice the strategy of innovative development, is aimed at application of best foreign experience and advanced solutions in all branches and is ready to consider specific proposals of Russian partners.
On May 18, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Chairman of the All-China Committee of the People's Political Consultative Council of the People's Republic of China Shen Yueyue.
As was marked during the meeting, our countries carry out cooperation not only on bilateral, but also on a multilateral basis, first of all within the framework of the United Nations Organization.
A great significance is given to development of trade and economic relations, and cooperation in the energy branch. Cultural-humanitarian partnership also makes up an integral component of interstate relations.
Prospects of expansion of inter-parliamentary dialogue as well as cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian areas were also discussed at the meeting with the Chinese delegation in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
On May 15-16, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation where he took part in the XV International Economic Forum «Russia-Islamic world: KazanForum» as guest of honour and also held a number of meetings.
During the meeting with Rais of the Republic Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, which was held with participation of members of delegations of both parties, it was noted that bilateral cooperation develops in the in the ascending line on all spectrum. Successful joint work in the oil and gas branch, shipbuilding, chemical industry, delivery of aviation technics and trucks as well as in the humanitarian sphere was pointed out.
Speaking at the Forum, Hero-Arkadag underlined that the voice of Islamic countries should sound firmly and authoritatively with a clear call to make a maximum to de-escalate the situation in the world, to turn conflicts into the channel of negotiations and to create conditions for the respectful dialogue.
In the given context, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov proposed the OIC to discuss jointly with other interested international structures a possibility of development of «the Islamic initiative for peace, mutual understanding and trust» and after agreement, to put forward the final text as an official document in one of the sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
As was marked, Turkmenistan considers the given initiative as a co-ordinated complex of approaches and proposals, a unique Road map on the basis of Islam postulates as religions of the world, good and justice addressed to the people of the planet. Thus, an emphasis was made on such important point as an openness of "the Islamic initiative» for joining it all states.
Readiness of Turkmenistan to promote further joint development of effective forms of interaction required by time was confirmed during meetings of the National Leader of the Turkmen people with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin and State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Mintimer Shaimiev.
Within the working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, members of the delegation of Turkmenistan held a number of meetings, in which possibilities of expansion of multiplane interaction were discussed.
On May 14, the Joint Conference of Turkmenistan and the European Union “30 years of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union: working together for a better future” was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Achievement and interaction prospect between two parties became the main theme of discussion.
At the forum, the signing of the Memorandum of mutual understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, State Concern "Türkmengaz" and German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) took place. The presentation of new joint projects «Turkmenistan: increase of stability and trade integration», carried out by the International trade centre; assistance of EU in "green" development of Turkmenistan; «Political dialogue and climatic actions for 2024-2028» anticipated the ceremony.
More than hundred local and foreign exhibitors presented their production at the International exhibition of modern food technologies organised in Ashgabat.
The exhibition platform reflected not only achievements of Turkmenistan in the agro-industrial complex, but also huge potential of business structures, which show their activity in this branch. Along with them - exhibitors from Russia, Turkey, Belarus, Uzbekistan.
At the exhibition advertising and presentation actions - demonstration of new technologies, equipment and production of agricultural food sector were also held. A number of bilateral meetings where positions on further development of cooperation were agreed also took place.
On May 16, in Ashgabat within the framework of the year “Anau - the cultural capital of the Turkic world - 2024”, the 10th meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the member states of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) was held.
Decisions of the 10th meeting of the National Commissions of the TURKSOY member countries for UNESCO and readiness for further multilateral cooperation found their reflection in the Final Document. Participants of the forum also unanimously approved the proposal of the National Commissions for UNESCO of Turkmenistan on development of the project «Our heritage».
The forum “Turkmen–Hytaý zenanlarynyň dünýäsi” (The World of Turkmen and Chinese Women) was held in Ashgabat with the participation of a Chinese delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the National Committee of the People’s Political Consultative Council of China Shen Yueyue In Ashgabat.
It considered the role of women in political and social development of two countries, strengthening of cooperation between Turkmen and Chinese women, affinity of cultural wealth of two friendly people and expansion of cultural-humanitarian relations.
Ashgabat also hosted the International Conference of Ministers of Culture dedicated to the 300th birthday anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi.
As was marked in speeches, greatness of each people is defined in many respects by outstanding and versatile persons. One of the great sons, which our people presented to the world, is Magtymguly Fragi who by right is considered as founder of Turkmen classical literature. The creative heritage of this unique poet, humanist and thinker of the East, being invaluable national property, became an integral part of world literature.
Main objectives of the International scientific conference «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi», organized by the Institute of language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, became deep study and popularisation of literary and philosophical heritage of the outstanding master of poetry, research of interrelation of languages and literatures of people of the East.
Thus, the past week, which was rich with various events, highlighted a high dynamics and creative potential of the country in the year, the motto of which is «The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi». All dreams of the great thinker of free, independent state today have completely come true. In the present period, Turkmen people who have found sovereignty, live, work and create in the free and prosperous state.
