President of Turkmenistan Nursultan Nazarbayev left for the Republic of Kazakhstan on working trip where he was invited as a Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony of international specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017.
From the airport, the motorcade of the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went to the Independence Palace, where President Nursultan Nazarbayev cordially and friendly met his colleague.

Warmly greeting high-ranking guest, the Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan highlighted that he is pleased to receive the Head of Turkmenistan in Astana again. Having expressed his gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the acceptance of the invitation to visit Kazakhstan and participate in the opening ceremony of Astana EXPO 2017, President Nursultan Nazarbayev confirmed the intent to further consolidation and development of traditionally friendly relations between two neighbouring countries and people.
Having expressed sincere gratitude for warm welcome, Turkmen Leader congratulated the colleague with such large and important event as the World Exhibition, having mentioned special urgency of its subject. In this regard, the Head of the State expressed the gratitude for conditions made for demonstration of Turkmenistan achievements and domestic developments in this field, which would be presented in national show-room of our country at the exhibition.
Having stated with delight that relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, based on the principles of goodwill, friendship, equality and transparency, acquire more dynamic character at present, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recalled his recent visit to Kazakhstan in April of the current year. Held on high level, it gave new impulse to our bilateral relations especially in energy, transport, trade and economic cooperation fields and important documents of expansion of partnership were signed, Turkmen Leader has said.
Bilateral relations rest upon old traditions of brotherhood and mutual sympathy of Turkmen and Kazakh nations, similarity of basic spiritual and cultural values, adherence of both states to the principles of peace-loving and humanity. This is a good foundation for close cooperation under competent international structures as well as for understanding in main global and regional issues where Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have common or similar approaches.
During the meeting, the Heads of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed current situation and prospects of interstate cooperation, outlined its priority directions taking into account modern realities and spoke for active accumulation of beneficial trade and economic collaboration and stimulation of close business, humanitarian and scientific relations which are also to be promoted by international specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the agenda of versatile Turkmen – Kazakh dialog gives special role to the development of trade and economic collaboration having considerable potential and received new dynamics recently. In this case, cooperation in such strategic sphere of bilateral partnership as the energy is very important. As is known, Turkmenistan – China gas pipeline has been built in 2009 and part of it lays across the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Implementation of this unique project is very important for the development of energy partnership in Eurasian space.
The similarity of approaches of the sides to the issues of global energy security and development of sustainable energy is an important condition. Cooperation in transport sphere also plays the key role in successful economic development of both state and in their integration to the system of global relations. Realization of another project on creation of golden link of North – South transport corridor – construction of Kazakhstan – Turkmenistan – Iran railroad was one of the brightest results of this cooperation. The road becomes an important link in formation of modern transport infrastructure allowing bringing economic and trade cooperation between Central Asian countries and neighbouring regions to quality new level and give strong impulse to interregional long-term cooperation.
Taking an opportunity, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited President Nursultan Nazarbayev to visit Ashgabat for the opening of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and highlighted that the Leader of Kazakhstan has always been and would be welcome guest in our country. The Head of Turkmenistan wished big success in the governmental activity to his colleague and prosperity to fraternal people of Kazakhstan through him.
