Musicians of Saint Petersburg House of Music “Embassy of Mastership” performed a concert at the Turkmenistan Cinema and Concert Centre on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of the Turkmen-Russian diplomatic relations. The cultural event was organized by the Ministries of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.

The fans of classical music in Ashgabat had the opportunity to enjoy the masterly performance of the young Russian musicians - flautist Alexander Petrov and pianist Andrey Telkov.

Alexander Petrov is a student of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory. 24-year-old musician is a laureate of many international contests. Alexander gives a lot of solo concerts in the cities of Russia and Europe, as well as together with the quartet of flutes.

Andrei Telkov, who is two years older than Alexander, is already a graduate student N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, and also a laureate of international contests in Russia and abroad.

The concert programme started with Concert Allegro No. 1 for flute and piano by Vladimir Tsybin. For some listeners, the composition sounded for the first time, and this increased the interest of the audience that warmly greeted the composition and talented musicians, awarding them with a storm of applause.

The concert continued with the Sonata for flute and piano composed by Sergei Prokofiev during World War II, when he was evacuated from Moscow to the Caucasus. The difficult situation in the country and the unshakable faith in the victory are conveyed in the melodic drawing of the composition.

The concert programme included the Rondo-Polka "Paris Sparrow" by Eugene Damare and the Sonata in E-flat Major by Joseph Haydn. Concluding the concert, pianist Andrey Telkov performed the composition by Sergei Prokofiev – Piano Sonata No. 7. The work was sounded directly and distinctly, in a manner peculiar to Sergei Prokofiev.

The audience awarded the talented Russian musicians with the storm of applause and flowers.

In the interview to our correspondent, Andrey Telkov noted that he was happy to visit Turkmenistan. “We left cold Petersburg and found ourselves in sunny Ashgabat. Unfortunately, our visit is short, but we are impressed with what we have seen. From the first minutes of our visit, we have been immersed into the atmosphere of hospitality, openness and kindness. We will visit Turkmenistan again with great pleasure to learn more about Turkmenistan, its unique traditions and rich culture, in particular, the musical one”.
