Delegation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan held talks at Kent State University

On October 2, 2024, in the city of Kent, Ohio, USA, a meeting was held between the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Minister of Education A. Atayev and Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States M. Orazov and President of Kent State University Todd Daikon.

The parties discussed the possibilities of extension of cooperation with a special emphasis on expanding academic programs and exploring the possibility of creating a branch of Kent State University in Turkmenistan. At the meeting, three Memorandums of Understanding were signed between this university and leading universities of Turkmenistan.

The meeting also included a cultural event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fragi. Turkmen and American artists performed traditional and classical music, and the accompanying exhibition featured various exhibits highlighting the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan.

During the talks with representatives of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), issues of cooperation aimed at internationalizing the higher education system of Turkmenistan were discussed.

The delegation also considered partnership opportunities in the field of architecture, artificial intelligence and education through entrepreneurship. The visit emphasized the desire of both countries to expand academic ties. In this context, it is planned to hold webinars and deepen cooperation in various innovative areas.
