On 6 November 2024, the 11th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Bishkek. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan. 

The meeting was attended by the heads of the participating States and observer countries of the OTS, as well as the head of this international organization. Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kyrgyz Republic N.Golliyev took part in the meeting on behalf of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the agenda, the sides exchanged views on the status and prospects of cooperation within the framework of the OTS.

The sides discussed current issues of practical cooperation in such areas as economy, transport, energy and culture. Special attention was paid to the coordination of joint actions to ensure sustainable development of the OTS countries, including the expansion of financial and investment ties.

One of the important subjects of the meeting was partnership in the digital economy with a focus on developing the logistics sector, strengthening the infrastructure of transport corridors and bettering of trade-economic relations.

An exchange of views on present international and regional issues, including strengthening stability and security in the region also took place at the meeting.

Following the outcomes of the meeting, the representatives of the Member Countries of the Organization adopted a number of documents.

It is important to note that the Prime Minister of Hungary V. Orban was awarded the “Supreme Order of the Turkic World” for his special contribution to strengthening the unity of the Turkic world.

The Kyrgyz Republic took over the chairmanship at the OTS.
