On 22 November 2024, a cultural event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi and the year 2024 entitled as “The Fount of Wisdom - Magtymguly Fragi” was held in the premises of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United Kingdom. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the UK jointly with the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

The gathering was attended by the members of delegation of Turkmenistan, representatives of the “Galkynysh” branch of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World in Great Britain, Turkmen students studying in higher educational institutions of the country, as well as citizens of Turkmenistan living in London.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United Kingdom Y. Seryaev, as well as researchers of the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan A. Nurayev and G. Changliyev gave speeches at the event. They provided information on the celebrations held at the international level to honor the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi.

The special role of the works of the great Turkmen poet and thinker at the international level was emphasized. The speakers informed the audience about the great contribution of the poet to the world cultural treasury, including his early works and biography based on ongoing researches of the life and works of the poet.

During the event, a video film dedicated to the works of Magtymguly Fragi and the development of Turkmenistan was shown, as well as the exhibition of Turkmen poet’s works in English was organized.
