During the meeting, the sides highly appraised the long-standing strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the United Nations, encompassing a wide range of fields. It was emphasized that the establishment of the “Turkmenistan-UN” Strategic Advisory Council is an example of active cooperation.
Special emphasis was made on the importance of consolidating efforts on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, including the national plans and programmes on SDGs in Turkmenistan. It was noted that foreign policy initiatives on achieving the SDGs and on current regional issues set forth by the country are consistently supported by the United Nations and other respected structures.
The unanimous adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution “International Year of Peace and Trust, 2025” initiated by Turkmenistan is a vivid evidence of this. In this context, it was noted that it is important to reinforce the adopted document with practical measures and enrich it with concrete, purposeful actions.
The interlocutors also considered key areas of cooperation and favorable projects.
