The two-day International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "Innovative Methods and Technologies of Teaching Foreign Languages" has begun today at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.

The forum, held in a hybrid format, was attended by teachers, professors, experts, and specialists in the field of linguistics and foreign language teaching methods from Turkmenistan and more than 30 foreign countries, as well as numerous students from domestic universities.

This conference and the exhibition organized within its framework have become one of the important events of the year "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi," organized to successfully address educational challenges.

It should be noted that within the framework of the "Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State: National Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052," the education sector is being systematically modernized to ensure high-quality teaching in secondary and vocational schools and higher educational institutions.

According to the concepts of digital education and the improvement of foreign language teaching in the country, new methods and pedagogical practices are being intensively implemented at all levels of education—from preschool institutions to higher educational institutions.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov places great importance on young people learning foreign languages, as language is a primary means of communication between people and expressing advanced ideas. In this regard, effective measures are being taken at all levels of education, starting from preschool institutions, aimed at improving foreign language teaching, speech and language skills of students, as well as developing and incorporating innovative technologies in linguistics into the educational process.

The conference was preceded by a video about independent neutral Turkmenistan and its achievements in science and education.

The forum's agenda included issues such as interaction on priority areas of foreign language teaching, the application of modern methods, the development of student exchange systems, and more.

Speakers at the plenary session noted that by becoming an effective platform for establishing new international contacts, the conference contributes to strengthening professional ties and expanding scientific dialogue between Turkmen specialists in foreign languages and their foreign colleagues.

As emphasized, joint educational projects with international organizations, particularly specialized UN agencies, are actively being implemented. This is evidenced by the establishment of UNESCO Chairs and Clubs in our country's higher education institutions. Several secondary schools in the country have been included in the UNESCO Associated Schools network. The Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan has become an official member of the UNESCO Global Youth Community.

Reports were presented on topics such as French-Turkmen cooperation in linguistics, methods of teaching English, inclusive practices, and the role of literature in foreign language education.

Speaking about the benefits of such events, guests notes that Turkmenistan places special importance on the development of digital education and the application of innovative methods in teaching foreign languages. They expressed hope for further collaboration with the Turkmen side.

In the afternoon, foreign linguists conducted a master class where they shared their developments in foreign language teaching with Turkmen colleagues and students from local universities.

A creative gift for the participants and guests of the forum was a concert titled "Medeniýet halklaryň kalbydyr," prepared by students of the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.

Tomorrow, the conference will continue with five thematic sections: "Achievements in Improving Foreign Language Teaching in Turkmenistan," "Linguodidactic Foundations of Language Teaching," "Modern Methods and Technologies of Language Teaching," "International Cooperation in Foreign Language Teaching," and "Tasks of Language Teaching Methods in the Context of Implementation of the Concept for Improving Teaching Methods of General Education Programs in Turkmenistan until 2028."

Additionally, a round table is planned to discuss national and global experiences in foreign language education.

For foreign guests, a large cultural program is prepared, including visits to the "Magtymguly Pyragy" cultural park complex, "Berkarar" and "Arkaç" shopping and entertainment centers, and excursions to museums in the Turkmen capital.
