The publishing house «Ылым» has published the training manual «Sports photojournalism», intended for students of higher educational institutions studying journalism.

The textbook was prepared by Shamukhammet Nepesov, Head of the Science Department of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. The new textbook widely describes the types of sports photojournalism, provides recommendations for writing articles on sports topics and their photo illustration, as well as discusses journalistic techniques and techniques for writing materials on sports topics, including the design of photo essays and other materials in national media.

The book consists of an introduction and sections such as "The purpose and objectives of the discipline", "The history of photography", "General information from the history of photojournalism", "Photojournalism in the Turkmen press", "From the history of the Turkmen press", "The role of sports in society", "Sport as a field of photojournalism", "The first sports newspapers and magazines", "Turkmen sports photojournalists", "Assistance to a sports photojournalist: how to photograph sports competitions?", "Peculiarities of photographing depending on sports", "Internet and sports photojournalism", "Genres of sports photojournalism", "Sports photojournalism and ethics".

The materials of the manual will help students to learn in depth about sports photojournalism, creation of sports photo stories, their placement in printed publications and other important areas related to the work of a sports photojournalist.
