On December 11, 2024, a high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of Neutrality for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development was held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the countries participating in the Group, including heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, as well as chiefs of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad.

During the meeting, the participants emphasized the effectiveness of the Group of Friends, as evidenced by its consistent expansion. The possibilities of applying the principles of positive neutrality in addressing the current global challenges were discussed at the meeting.

In this context, the parties also considered the development of the Global Security Strategy based on the principles of the UN Charter and universally recognized norms of international law, taking into account current tendencies in global development.

In addition, views were exchanged on specific methods to enhance practical cooperation to achieve peace, security and sustainable development.

The participants agreed to continue the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by integrating the principles of neutrality into national and international strategies.
