The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, within the United Nations Children's Fund, has launched new learning materials on gender-oriented pedagogy.
These materials are intended for parents, teachers and students and are aimed at supporting gender-sensitive approaches in schools, kindergartens and families. The materials are also aimed at improving the skills of specialists in the education, health and social protection sectors to promote an inclusive and equitable educational environment.
On December 13, an event was held to acquainting with training materials on capacity building for specialists working with children and families. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan, the Education Departments of Ashgabat, national educational institutions, also pilot schools and kindergartens involved in inclusive education initiatives.
The initiative focused on providing professionals with tools and strategies to address gender issues in their work, creating an inclusive environment that meets the diverse needs of children and their families. The Deputy Representative of UNICEF in Turkmenistan, Alexandru Nartaa, noted that the integration of gender-sensitive pedagogy into the education system is an important step towards creating an inclusive and supportive environment for every child.
