A presentation of a classical guitar textbook was held at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva. The authors of this unique manual, Myrat Gurbanov, a lecturer from the Department of Music History, and Leyli Nasyrova, a teacher at Children's School of Arts No. 3 under the Ashgabat City Culture Administration, personally introduced the book to students.

The presentation was opened by Myrat Gurbanov, who shared historical information included in the textbook. He told young musicians about the origins and development of the classical guitar, its historical prototypes, as well as outstanding performers and composers from various eras—from the Renaissance to modern times.

“This is the first modern textbook on classical guitar published in Turkmenistan. It is intended for students of children's music schools and schools of arts,” noted Leyli Nasyrova. “The textbook includes an extensive pedagogical repertoire, consisting of etudes for young guitarists of different skill levels, large-form works, miniatures, polyphonic compositions, as well as pieces by Turkmen composers.”

During the event dedicated to contemporary guitar art in Turkmenistan, young guitarists—students from music schools and the conservatory—demonstrated their skills.

Baimyrat Gutlymyradov, Vice-Rector for Research at the Conservatory, and Bahar Yakubova, Head of the Department of Music History, congratulated the authors on the release of the book. They wished students and pupils of music schools and conservatories continued success in developing their performance skills and striving for new achievements.

The classical guitar textbook, released in 2024, has become a true gift for students of children's music schools across the country. In this manual, the authors have adapted Turkmen folk melodies for classical guitar, which adds special value and relevance to the book.
