S.A.Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University is included in the Alliance of Silk Road Universities – University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR). The Silk Road University Alliance is a non–governmental, non-profit organization aimed at developing international cooperation in the field of higher education and was established in 2015 as part of the foreign policy initiative of the People's Republic of China. "One belt, one road."

The alliance, which unites about 180 universities, aims to promote cooperation in the field of higher education, student exchange, enriching their educational experience, intercultural communication, as well as promoting joint projects and research, increasing mutual understanding and friendship between students, developing their comprehensive talents and contributing to the economic growth of countries located along the historical route of the Silk Road and in the modern Eurasian region.

As a global and effective educational platform Alliance promotes regional openness and broad interaction between universities from countries and regions. Based on this, the accession of the Turkmen university to the number of participants the Alliance is important for establishing and developing international relations, strengthening friendly relations, scientific, educational and cultural cooperation with leading universities in the member countries, as well as studying and implementing the best practices of foreign partners.
