The Union of Artists of Turkmenistan always places great emphasis on preserving and developing the traditions of national culture. Every year, the country celebrates various memorable dates associated with outstanding figures of art. Among them, special reverence is given to creators who have made significant contributions to the national art school.
This year, two creative works—a relief and a bas-relief depicting the Turkmen artist—have been presented at the Exhibition Center of Fine Arts under the Ministry of Culture to mark the 125th anniversary of Bashim Nurali, the first People's Artist of Turkmenistan.
These works, created by artist and specialist in relief art Alexander Kashirsky, immortalize the memory of the founder of national fine arts. The image of Bashim Nurali is captured in bronze and wood, symbolizing the eternity and durability of his legacy.
When Bäşim Nurali first picked up a brush, he was no older than twenty. However, his exceptional talent and relentless passion for art contributed to the formation of a national school of painting in Turkmenistan.
Today, one of the most renowned art schools for creatively gifted children in our country bears Bashim Nurali’s name. The school houses a mini-museum dedicated to the master, displaying his musical instruments, sketches, and other memorable artifacts. Students take pride in knowing they study at such an institution.
“This year is rich in significant dates,” notes Alexander Kashirsky. “Our primary task is to preserve the memory of those who laid the foundations of national culture and continue to inspire new generations. The anniversary of People's Writer and Poet Kayum Tangrygulyev is also approaching. In honor of this event, I have prepared creative tributes as well.”
Alexander Kashirsky has been presenting his relief works at exhibitions for seven years. Tirelessly creating new tributes, he demonstrates that art is alive and evolving. His works feature images of prominent figures from our country and abroad. For instance, on the anniversaries of Dostoevsky and Molière, he created original portraits commemorating these historical figures.
The artist also keeps modern figures in mind. Among his recent works are tributes to vocalists Bahar Durdyeva, Begench Moshshiyev, and others.
