An exhibition titled “Parahatçylyk – bagtyň açary” has opened at the gallery of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, showcasing the best works of students from various years that have become part of the academy's golden creative fund.
Such exhibitions have become a good tradition and are held regularly, allowing newly enrolled students to draw inspiration and learn from their senior colleagues.
In light of 2025 being declared the International Year of Peace and Trust, this exhibition is dedicated to this important theme. The display includes more than one hundred creative works spanning diverse art forms such as graphics, sculpture, painting, design, jewelry making, and decorative-applied arts.
A key feature of the exhibition is works celebrating the glory of Akhal-Teke horses, which are especially relevant following the recent victory of the "Galkynyş" National Equestrian Games Group at the 47th International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo.
Modern artists, continuing the traditions of national fine arts, strive to create new works that reflect the spirit of their time while maintaining a connection to historical roots. Landscape artworks predominantly feature rural scenes such as harvest collection, camel caravans, marine themes reflecting the vastness of the Caspian Sea, and the grandeur of the Kopetdag Mountains. The creative works capture everything that Turkmenistan is renowned for.
Everyday scenes are also vividly depicted, such as baking homemade bread, engaging in handicrafts, and carpet weaving. All these motifs are genuinely recognizable and dear to everyone born and raised in our beautiful country.
The State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, founded in 1994, is one of the country’s leading higher education institutions. Over six years of study, students master disciplines such as anatomy, perspective, drawing, oil painting, basics of architecture and design, stone and metal processing. Additionally, they study art history and technologies for carpet weaving, ceramics, and jewelry making.
Many talented graduates continue their mentors' work by staying at the academy to pass on their knowledge and experience to new generations of students, thereby enriching and developing Turkmenistan’s cultural heritage.
