This was stated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the forum «International Year of Peace and Trust: the Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development». 

In this context, the current year - the International Year of Peace and Trust - should give a powerful impetus to economic cooperation, Hero-Arkadag noted, expressing confidence that peace, trust, equality and mutual benefit should form the basis of economic partnership. At the same time, it was emphasised that any large economic, infrastructure, trade and investment projects can be successful only under the condition of equality and mutual trust. 

As noted, at present, regional and interregional ties are strengthening in different parts of the world, new economic alliances are being created. The era of rapid economic progress has arrived, based on the use of geographical resources, modern technologies, environmental standards and effective solutions.
