Teachers of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas visited the city of Bratislava (Slovakia) from April 5 to 12.

The visit took place within the framework of the project “Combining Environmental Issues, Public Needs and Effective Governance in Education and Employment in Central Asia” (ESGCA) of the European Union's Erasmus+ program “Enhancing the Potential of Higher Education".

The purpose of the trip is to participate in short-term trainings on the development of a master's degree program that combines current ecosystem and social challenges, as well as issues of effective management.

The training took place at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STUBA). On its basis, a seminar was organized for participants on the topic "Practical applications of ESG in sustainable industry, higher education and water management."

As part of the visit, a tour of the Slovnaft oil refining complex was organized for the participants. This complex of plants is actively introducing the concepts of "green production," which includes the use of environmentally friendly materials, optimizing energy and water consumption, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The teachers were told about the company's strategies to minimize the negative impact of production on the environment. The information obtained is of great importance for educational institutions in which future specialists in the field of ecology and sustainable development are trained.

Note that the ESGCA project is aimed at improving educational programs in the field of ecology and sustainable development for CA countries and contributes to improving the quality of higher education in the region. The project participants are leading universities in Italy, Romania, Slovakia and a number of countries in the Central Asian region.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to organize regular meetings and trainings, which will become a platform for further exchange of experience, introduction of the latest educational practices, professional growth of participants and strengthening international ties in the field of science and education. In addition, the planned events will open up additional opportunities for students and teachers from CA countries aimed at consolidating joint efforts to ensure sustainable development in the region.
