The Turkmen delegation visited Turin to participate in an international seminar within the framework of the «DARYA» project

The Turkmen delegation took part in the International Seminar on Capacity Building and Peer Learning, held in Villa Gualino in Turin (Italy) from 20th to 23rd of May.

The event was held within the framework of the «DARYA» (Dialogue And Action for Resourceful Youth in Central Asia) project and was organised by the European Training Foundation (ETF) with the support of the ENE Network for Excellence and with funding from the European Union (EU).

The seminar brought together delegations from five Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries.

The seminar was dedicated to the creation and development of Centres of Excellence (CVE) and became an important platform for exchanging experiences in the field of vocational education and training (VET), as well as strengthening the role of CVE in the participating countries.

The discussions were interactive and practice-oriented: comparative models of CPM in different countries were presented, best practices were analysed, and country plans for the development of CPM were proposed taking into account national characteristics.

On the first day of the seminar, the participants were introduced to the international concept of professional excellence, European strategic documents in the field of VET and the current situation in the development of CPM in the participating countries.

The delegates presented national CPE models and existing practices, and visited two Centres of Excellence in Turin, where they were able to observe the process of using the tools for developing excellence and interacting with employers.

The second day began with an exchange of opinions on the results of the visit to the Centres of Excellence in Italy. Then the participants discussed the key components of the CPE (quality of teaching, partnership with business, digitalisation, sustainability), worked in groups and studied examples of successful partnerships within the ENE. The day's program ended with a sightseeing tour of Turin and a joint dinner, which allowed the participants to strengthen their professional ties in an informal setting.

The third and final day of the event was dedicated to the ISATCOVE tool - the International Self-Assessment System for Centres of Excellence, its methodology and implementation experience in countries such as Spain, Latvia and Moldova. Then, country sessions were held to select priority assessment criteria and formulate national plans for the development of the CPM, and specific steps were outlined for further work over the next 12 months.

All participants in the meeting committed to presenting their findings to national partners upon their return to their countries and to continue working on the development of the CPM in national vocational education and training systems.

The seminar was very productive and became an important stage in the implementation of the «DARYA» project related to teaching and learning. The discussions were highly engaged, practical, and contributed to strengthening regional and international cooperation in the field of vocational education.
