Saparguly Makhtumov, Ambassador of the international Technovation program Girls from Turkmenistan became the winner of the World Leadership Award Ambassadors of GALA-2025 (Global Ambassador Leadership Award). Saparguly received the prestigious award for his contribution to the successful promotion and implementation of the Technovation Girls program in Turkmenistan and became the first youth ambassador among the GALA award winners. As Megan Black noted at the award ceremony, the coordinator Based on the Technovation headquarters in California, Saparguly actively worked with a wonderful team of ambassadors both in Turkmenistan and in the Central Asian region within the framework of the program. In addition to fulfilling the program's tasks in Ashgabat, he provided technical support to teams and successfully coordinated ambassadors across the country.
The award ceremony, held in an online format, brought together young ambassadors from 117 participating countries of the Technovation Girls program.
According to the annual tradition, 4 ambassadors were announced as laureates of the award those who have demonstrated exceptional success and achievements in the areas of leadership, community building collaboration, and programmatic advocacy. This season, in addition to the representative from Turkmenistan, ambassadors from Spain, Nigeria and Kyrgyzstan.
The international Technovation Girls program has been implemented in Turkmenistan for four years. The project is a global initiative aimed at developing social entrepreneurship and promoting the opportunities of young girls in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). As part of the largest technology competition among girls, the participants work in teams to create mobile applications aimed at solving certain social problems at the local or international level.
At the end of each season, the finalist teams of the IT competitions gather at the World Summit in California, where they present their application prototypes to the leaders of leading technology companies such as Google, Meta and Amazon.
The holding of events of the Technovation Girls program contributes to develop the participants' interest and desire to master modern innovations and world practices, expand their knowledge and abilities, as well as an understanding of the importance of personal participation in the successful development of their country in the modern era of digital technologies.
