More than 40 players of various ages took part in the second lightning chess tournament organized by the Chess Federation, which took place today at the French Institute in Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan in cooperation with the university administration. The event was timed to coincide with the celebrations of France's National Day (July 14) and World Chess Day (July 20).

Despite the amateur cast of participants with a FIDE rating below 1600, the competitions were organized very professionally. Blitz Tournament he went through 7 rounds according to the Swiss system, where each player was allocated 5 minutes per game with an addition of 3 seconds per turn.

The winners were determined in two age categories: under 18 and under 12 Ahmed Dzhanbekov became the winner in the under-18 category, and Jasmin Rakhmedova took the lead among the younger ones. The three best participants in each category received medals, certificates and prizes from the organizers and sponsors – the companies Halk Khazyna (Petro Canada) and Resmi Kepil.

The tournament aroused great interest among the participants, confirming once again Successful cooperation between the French Institute in Turkmenistan and the country's Chess Federation, which have been holding regular chess meetings at the university for two years now.
