The admission campaign for 2025 to higher and secondary vocational educational institutions of the country is successfully continuing in Ashgabat, Arkadag city and velayats of Turkmenistan.

In the period from July 14 to July 27, documents were accepted from applicants to universities in the country, as well as secondary vocational schools of pedagogical, medical and cultural profile. Admission of documents to secondary vocational schools of finance and economics and economic accounting will last until August 18.

On July 30, the entrance exams to universities and secondary vocational educational institutions started, where the acceptance of documents from applicants was completed. The admission campaign will be carried out in the country until August 25.

According to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, in 2025-2026 It is planned to enroll 27,661 students in the academic year, including 16,782 students in higher education institutions and 10,879 students in secondary vocational schools.

According to the annual tradition, the country has increased the admission of students to universities and vocational schools. In the new academic year, universities of Turkmenistan will accept 856 more students than last year. 

389 more students will be admitted to secondary vocational schools compared to the previous academic year. Along with the increase in student places, the number of specialties and training areas has traditionally increased in universities and vocational schools. For example, in the upcoming academic year, 4 new universities will be launched in 6 higher educational institutions of the country directions according to the specialty program, 5 – according to the program bachelor's degree and 4 Master's degree programs.

The increase in student enrollment for the 2025-2026 academic year and the introduction of new specialties is facilitated by the upcoming the opening of a new university in the country - the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, which will accept the first 500 undergraduate students and begin training future specialists in the field of entrepreneurship in 8 enlarged groups of fields of education.

In addition, a new additional academic building of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan will be commissioned this year.

During a government meeting on July 11, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished great success to the young people aspiring to study. The Head of State stressed that the country's higher education institutions should accept talented, most worthy representatives of the younger generation, conduct entrance exams in an organized and fair manner, ensuring public control.
