Throughout September, the Ozone Office under the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan held a series of environmental campaigns at secondary schools and universities in the capital, dedicated to the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. The series of events included open lessons aimed at expanding knowledge about the role of the ozone layer in protecting the living world.

Environmentalists visiting schoolchildren touched on various aspects of natural science, explaining how the ozone shield protects our planet, its natural systems, and living beings from the effects of harsh solar radiation. These campaigns were aimed at nurturing ecological and climate awareness among the younger generation. One such campaign took place in the assembly hall of School No. 55 and focused on the preservation of the ozone layer and climate. During the lecture, a quiz was held in which all interested students could participate. The question-and-answer format allowed students to test and deepen their knowledge in natural sciences, physics, chemistry, and astronomy, take an active part in discussions, and reinforce the information in a playful manner.
Another event — an open lesson at School No. 15 — had an educational character and was dedicated to the connection between ozone layer protection and climate change. Young Turkmen students learned about the importance of ozone, which "shields" our blue planet from ultraviolet radiation.

Particularly engaging for the teenagers was an interactive survey, during which they answered questions, shared their ideas, and the best participants received prizes. The event concluded with a tree-planting campaign that sparked enthusiastic participation from both children and adults. Everyone was happy to contribute in a tangible way to the preservation of nature, the climate, and the ozone layer.
The organizers emphasized that helping young people and shaping ecological thinking is far from a routine task. It is a pleasure to conduct such events because children are sincere and discerning listeners — overall, a grateful audience. Our future lies in their genuine, engaged participation, understanding, and desire to help the planet.
