Turkmen swimmers complete their performance at the Tokyo Olympics

Weightlifter Polina Guryeva won the first medal for Turkmenistan at the Olympic Games
The first Olympic silver medal in the history of independent Turkmenistan was won today by the master of sports from Ashgabat Polina Guryeva at the Tokyo Games. From September 11 to September 15 (Russia) the International festival of school sports of the states-participants CIS will be held in the Ulyanovsk region. By tradition the teams from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Byelorussia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Russia will show their skill in such sports, as mini-football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and chess. An important part of the festival is the cultural-educational program in which frameworks participants will be acquainted with national traditions of residents of the region, enjoy excursion to sights and museums of the region and also master classes from outstanding sportsmen.
