The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted the first qualifying round of the fifth season of the career-oriented project “Young Messengers of Peace.” The project is organized by the university and its affiliated School of Young Diplomats for high school students across Turkmenistan.
The opening game of the new season was dedicated to the theme “The Peace Doctrine of Our Hero Arkadag – the Unshakable Foundation of the Policy of Neutrality.” Talented students of grades 10–12 from secondary schools in Ashgabat, Mary, and Balkan provinces took part in the competition.
During the intellectual contest, the students confidently handled challenging tasks and questions on the topic, actively and persuasively defending their views. Their performances clearly reflected a deep interest in their country’s history, its domestic and foreign policy, and Turkmenistan’s diplomatic relations with nations around the world.
The jury included Begench Karaev, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences and Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Institute; Lyale Ashirova, Lecturer at the Department of Turkmen Literature of Magtymguly Turkmen State University; and Nazar Meredov, Lecturer at the Department of International Economic Relations of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan.
Following a fascinating and dynamic competition, the winners were announced as Khydyr Durdyev, a 12th-grade student of the Ashgabat Specialized Boarding School named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi, and Jumamyrat Orazmyradov, a 12th-grade student of Secondary School No. 12 with advanced studies in exact and natural sciences in the city of Shatlyk, Oguzkhan District, Mary Province.
The winners and all participants received honorary certificates from the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan and commemorative gifts from the event sponsors — the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, and the National Archery Federation of Turkmenistan.
The fifth season of this major project, launched during the International Year of Peace and Trust — also marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality — is held under the motto:
“Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Center of the Policy of Peace and Dialogue of Mutual Trust.”
The organizers expressed confidence that the contest will continue to promote among the younger generation an understanding of the importance of Turkmenistan’s peace-loving foreign policy and its benevolent, friendly international relations. The new season will become another significant contribution to the harmonious upbringing and comprehensive education of Turkmen youth — the future ambassadors of global peace, kindness, and trust.
