The panel discussion held as part of the International Startup Forum 2025 became a landmark event for discussing the future of IT entrepreneurship in the region.
Experts from Turkmenistan and Central Asia focused on issues that are critically important for shaping a dynamic and successful startup ecosystem. In particular, they discussed legal frameworks and regulatory incentives for business, the development and retention of skills and talents in the technology sector, exploring opportunities for early-stage startup access to capital, as well as creating favorable models for public and private venture funds.
One of the most inspiring moments of the discussion was the speech by Perman Annamamedov, co-founder of the startup KinesteX. At only 24 years old, Perman already has successful experience in launching a startup whose story clearly demonstrates the potential of Turkmenistan’s young talents.
Together with a group of enthusiasts, he developed an innovative fitness application that uses fast artificial intelligence (AI). The main goal of the project is to help people who want to exercise regularly stay healthy and in good shape.
As Perman noted, they created an AI assistant that serves as a kind of personal trainer. The application goes beyond simply counting calories:
“Our assistant uses the smartphone camera to monitor movements in real time and provides detailed recommendations on how the exercise is being performed. By giving feedback on the user’s physical activity, it not only counts steps but also helps with proper nutrition, prevents the risk of injuries, and most importantly, motivates users to achieve their goals.”
The startup’s success is confirmed by impressive financial indicators. Recently, after the latest venture investment, KinesteX reached a valuation of 8 million US dollars. This is an incredible achievement in just three years on the market.
The story of Perman and his like-minded team is a powerful message to young people in our country who are interested in technology. It serves as an inspiring example of how courage, an innovative idea, and hard work can turn a local startup into a project with global potential.
