President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the first Cabinet of Ministers meeting of 2026 via a digital system. One of the key topics of discussion was the work plans of the country’s economic and financial-banking sector for the current year.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimyradov presented draft plans aimed at ensuring long-term stability. Thus, the Government’s main efforts will be focused on the following areas: macroeconomic stability and the dynamic development of regions; modernization of investment policy and the creation of an attractive business environment; and the large-scale introduction of digital technologies in all spheres of governance.

Special attention in the plans for 2026 is devoted to the social protection of citizens. The state intends to improve labor relations and take measures to increase employment levels. These tasks will be addressed in parallel with ensuring the execution of the State Budget and implementing effective fiscal, budgetary, and monetary policies.

In the coming year, a set of measures is also planned for the qualitative modernization of the banking and insurance systems. As part of the implementation of measures, it is envisaged to expand the range of banking and insurance products, intensify cooperation with international financial institutions, optimize the processes of ownership and management of state assets, and improve the work of national statistical bodies and the standardization system.

At the same time, as noted in the report, measures are planned to ensure adequate monetary provision of the economy and lending in line with current needs, as well as to introduce advanced international practices into the national legislative framework.
