Sericulture in Dashoguz velayat is one of the important sectors of agriculture

Although silkworm production becomes more active in the spring, sericulture workers in Dashoguz velayat also have plenty of work to do these days. Special attention is paid to ensuring the efficient operation of existing incubators used to activate silkworm eggs, of which there are around seventy in the region. The high yield of healthy silkworms—and ultimately the quality of the produced silk—largely depends on proper care and strict sterility in the incubators.

Currently, as part of incubator maintenance, thorough cleaning and disinfection of the premises are being carried out, and the incubators are treated with disinfectant solutions that meet the required standards. In addition, when necessary, checks are conducted to ensure the proper functioning of the ventilation systems and climate-control equipment in operation there. According to specialists, the winter period is also important for planning the upcoming spring work.

Every year, the velayat, where sericulture is one of the well-developed agricultural sectors, produces hundreds of tons of valuable raw material for the textile industry. Sericulture workers in the region successfully combine their rich accumulated experience in cocoon production with the use of modern scientific recommendations.

One of the key factors for the successful development of sericulture is the availability of a strong feed base. Mulberry plantations in the region cover several thousand hectares and are replenished annually with a large number of new saplings. Although mulberry trees do not require special care in winter, consistent attention is paid to maintaining cleanliness around the plantations and ensuring that their root systems are not damaged by frost.
