A delegation led by Albert Ranganai Chimbindi, Permanent secretary for foreign affairs and international trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, visited Turkmen universities. They arrived in Ashgabat to participate in political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
During their visit to Turkmenistan, foreign guests met with representatives of the Institute of international relations of the Ministry of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan.

At a meeting with administration of the university, faculty, and students, Mr. Albert Ranganai Chimbindi detailed foreign policy priorities, interactions within the African Union of Zimbabwe, and the role of developing countries in the modern global architecture.
The participants jointly examined the prospects for developing political, diplomatic, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

A lively discussion session followed, during which the future diplomats addressed questions to Zimbabwean representatives about the economic development of the African continent, trade relations, and joint activities within leading international organisations.
Foreign delegates noted the high level of knowledge and innovative approach to analysing global politics of the students.
The guests were then given a guided tour of the institute, during which they visited the Museum of the history of Turkmen diplomacy.

During their visit to our country, Zimbabwean delegates also visited the International University for humanities and development.
For the students and faculty of the university, Mr. Albert Ranganai Chimbindi delivered an informative lecture on current issues in contemporary international relations.
In his speech, the guest of honour spoke in detail about the prospects for cooperation between the countries, ways to strengthen diplomatic relations, and the role of economic and humanitarian cooperation in the modern epoch. The importance of trusting and equal dialogue between states to ensure sustainable development was emphasised.

At the end of the lecture, the foreign guest answered questions from students studying international relations. This was followed by joint discussions on future directions of interstate cooperation, opportunities for interregional partnership, and the role of international organisations.
Participants noted that such meetings make a significant contribution to expanding the knowledge and training of young specialists in the field of international relations.
The events, attended by the Zimbabwean delegation, further demonstrate the effectiveness of «open-door» policy of Turkmenistan and its consistent efforts to elevate relations with African countries to a new level.
