The Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “White City Ashgabat — A Masterpiece of Architectural Art, a Center of Scientific Innovative Development”, dedicated to the celebration of Ashgabat City Day.

The event was held online with the participation of professors, lecturers, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, and master’s students from higher educational institutions, as well as specialists from scientific institutes and companies from Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, South Korea, Georgia, Montenegro, Latvia, Finland, and the United States.

As part of the conference, participants were introduced to an exhibition showcasing the achievements of the Turkmen institute in the fields of scientific research and project development. Among the exhibits was a project for the new campus complex of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, designed by the institute’s faculty members. It was noted that construction of the facility is currently in its final stage and that its opening is expected in September of this year. To familiarize guests with the rich history of the Turkmen people and the national culture, works of decorative and applied arts were also widely displayed at the exhibition.

More than 210 scientific presentations were delivered during the forum.

During the plenary session, foreign scholars who presented reports shared interesting information about the historical traditions and unique features of their nations’ architectural arts, modern construction innovations widely implemented in global practice, and advanced technological developments.

The scientific perspectives voiced on creating a comfortable urban environment, developing design concepts, improving the effectiveness of architectural and construction education, and training in-demand specialists generated great interest among the conference participants.

The conference then continued its work in four sections: Architectural and construction innovations, modern materials, and advanced technologies; Architecture, design, urban planning, and settlement planning; Implementation of digital technologies into construction and architecture, construction economics; Ecology in construction, life safety, and alternative energy sources.

The conference significantly contributed to strengthening friendly relations and promoting the mutually beneficial exchange of valuable scientific information and experience among representatives of specialized universities, scientific institutes, and industrial companies.

At the same time, the forum enabled participants to jointly examine issues and present effective approaches to integrating education, science, and industry, as well as discuss key topics related to supporting young talents, encouraging youth participation in scientific research, and training highly qualified and competitive specialists.
