On August 21, 2026, a conference was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of India dedicated to the significance of the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly entitled “2028 – International Year of Law,” adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan. In his address, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to India Sh.Geldynazarov briefed the participants on the high-level events being held throughout 2026 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the country's independence, under the motto “Independent permanently neutral Turkmenistan – homeland of purposeful heavenly horses.”

Particular attention was paid to the importance of the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, scheduled to take place on September 23, 2026. In this context, the participants were informed about the tasks outlined by the Hero-Arkadag, during the meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty held on July 15, 2026.

It was emphasized that the forthcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty will provide an opportunity to review the country's achievements and progress in strengthening and developing the independent state, assess the work carried out in various areas, and identify key priorities and tasks for the further advancement of Turkmenistan.

The participants were also briefed on the UN General Assembly Resolution “2028 – International Year of Law,” which was adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan. The resolution, co-authored by 78 countries, reflects broad international support for Turkmenistan's initiative and was highlighted as another important achievement of the country's constructive and peace-oriented foreign policy.
