A meeting between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
The head of the upper house of the Russian parliament arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the International Women’s Dialogue “The Role of Women in Maintaining Peace and Achieving Sustainable Development.”
During the conversation, Valentina Matviyenko emphasized that Russian-Turkmen relations are currently developing harmoniously and consistently across a wide range of areas, while the agreements reached as a result of high-level meetings and negotiations are being successfully implemented on a mutually beneficial basis.
It was noted that effective and friendly ties at the state level contribute to bringing bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new stage.
The Chairwoman of the Federation Council noted the high level of organization of the International Women’s Dialogue in Turkmenistan, which reflects the special respect and recognition of the role of women in society. In this context, Valentina Matviyenko particularly highlighted the significant contribution of O. Atabayeva, Vice President of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, to the preparation and organization of international women’s forums.
