President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The meeting agenda focused on the priority state policy issues and drafts of a number of important documents.
Before opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader noted that every year, on the second Sunday of August the country widely celebrated the Turkmen Melon Day. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cordially congratulated all those present and wished farmers further successes in creating new selected varieties of Turkmen melons and their noble work.
Then Vice Premiers reported on the preparations for the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan scheduled for August of the current year, on the outcomes of the Turkmen delegation’s working visit to the People’s Republic of China aimed at discussing the issues of cooperation in the sphere of culture. It was also reported on the progress in implementing the Programme on development of the agricultural industry in Turkmenistan in 2012-2016, the agricultural campaigns, the works on construction of important objects and facilities, new powerful electric lines in Mary and Lebap Velayats. Vice Premiers also informed the Turkmen leader on the measures taken to accelerate the paces of developing the Galkynysh gas deposit, on the new large investment projects in the petrochemical industry, including construction of a polyethylene production plant.
It was also reported on the progress in implementing the state social policy and national programmes on development of science, education, healthcare, sport and tourism. It was noted that at present the entrance examination took place in the country. Since the beginning of the new academic year 20 new specialties will have been opened, and 5,766 students will be enrolled that is 711 students more as compared to the same period of the last year. 5,775 students will be admitted to vocational schools.
The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolutions on improvement of the structure of the Turkmenstandartlary State Service, “On purchase of specialized freight cars for transportation of cement, mineral fertilizers and oil products for the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan” for purchase of 300 freight cars for transportation of cement and mineral fertilizers as well as 200 freight cars for oil products transportation.
The other state policy issues were considered, and the decisions were adopted during the meeting.
