According to the Decree of the President of the country, Turkmenistan’s State Committee for sports and tourism was abolished. Turkmenistan’s State Committee for sports became its legal successor.

As the Decree of the head of state reads, new Committee was created within a view of wide introduction into society of the principle of healthy life-style, increase in the world of authority of the Turkmen state as well as further improvement of sport sphere.

Turkmenistan’s State Committee for tourism was founded on the basis of the abolished Committee for the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the country, new structure was entrusted to solve the tasks of all-round development and expansion of tourism potential of all regions of Turkmenistan, open new tourist routes as well as improvement of tourism sector in future.

Turkmenistan’s State Committee for tourism will be located in Ashgabat.

Committee for the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” will be a part of this newly founded establishment as independent authority.
